Eastern Hills were under the pump early missing some key players that had troubled the uni boys in previous games. The boys came ready to play this week and were determined to turn their poor form around. The aggressiveness in the batters box was a notable change from previous weeks. The UWA boys dominated with 27 hits. The fielding didnt change either. Ash made sure that EH had to put the ball in play and the field backed him up this week. Todays effort was excellent, but we cant get ahead of ourselves. Curtin this week will be tough and the boys need to turn it on again. |

With yet another vastly different team to last week and a lazy warm up (due to umpiring/coaching duties) this could have been a danger game but Eastern Hills were in a worse position than us - short of players and some having to play 2 games.
Welcome to Tristan (Ryan) Chaney who calmly belted 3 hits and looked good at shortstop. Jeremy removed the first 8 batters in a row and backed this up in the batters box, driving in the first of 7 runs to start our offence. PTTG looked very much at home at 3rd base and Dave, despite a sore groin, did well behind the dish.
Although the opposition wasn't strong our defence was solid. No errors in the field makes a big difference!! We did give them a few too many walks but this time it didn't hurt us on the scoreboard. Well done Jeremy and Thom.
Play of the day was Dave running from 1st to 3rd on the back of a great drive from Chunks. What could have been a home run turned into a stand-up double.
