UWA baseball player Molly Finch has had a phenomenal and highly successful season. A skilled infielder and leadoff hitter, Molly was a force behind the plate batting .686 and going on to win the title for Baseball WA 2024/25 Women's Batting Average Champion. Molly's power with the bat this season set new club women's records for single season batting, slugging and on base averages. As a club we are delighted to highlight and celebrate Molly's achievement as the first UWA female baseball player to win a league batting title, a championship award that has not been won by a UWA Baseball player in 13 years. She was the first female player to win the title while playing for a club other than the Braves since 2017/18.

In 2024 our club joined in the newly developed UWA Sport LGBTQIA+ Allyship in Sport Program. The program aims to support UWA affiliated clubs with improving inclusive practices in order to influence, and create safe, welcoming, and inclusive sporting environments for the LGBTQIA+ community.
On 6 February 2025 we were honored to be invited as guests of the UWA Sport to the WA Sport Awards, where UWA won the Hyundai Sports Initiative of the Year Award for their LGBTQIA+ Allyship in Sport Program.
We are delighted to see the Universities advocacy and efforts to promote diversity and inclusion practices across their affiliated clubs recognised and celebrated.

Thank you to our teams and everyone from our baseball community who took part in our Sunday pride round, a part of the many pride events across WA Pride Fest.
Our club and baseball community came together as allies and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to promote awareness, education and inclusion in baseball and softball, as well as proudly raise funds for the Freedom Centre.
The Freedom Centre made a guest star appearance to open our round and talk about the vital support they provide to young LGBTQIA+ people locally in WA.
You can read more about our Pride round in this Baseball WA article. To learn more about the advocacy and support of the Freedom Centre be sure to check out their website for more information about what they do and how to get involved.

The club is pleased to highlight the significant career and personal achievements of Amy Mather who was recently awarded a half blue by the University of Western Australia in recognition of her softball career and excellence on the field, going from height to height with representation at state and national level.
Blues have a long-standing history at UWA. These awards are the highest possible honour student athletes can achieve, and acknowledge not only excellence in sport, but also the athletes’ contributions to their respective clubs.
Across an impressive softball career, Amy has won multiple MVP awards with UWABSC, been selected to represent the WA Junior State Team across six successive years, and gone on to win multiple awards for MVP and Pitching in WA Junior State Championships.
Congratulations Amy on your significant career and sporting achievement!
